After having a farming background and later working in the City for quite a few years, I decided that I missed seeing the local countryside and the changes of seasons, and therefore retired from business life and took up the challenge of watercolour painting. My daughter previously gave me some paints, and as I have no formal training, found a few day classes and infrequent weekend courses in East Anglia.
I live in Bishop’ Stortford and am a member of Bishop’s Stortford Art Society and Much Hadham Art Society, exhibiting in their exhibitions, and in local surrounding areas. I enjoy painting landscapes, townscapes, peoples pets, seascapes boats (my love of sailing!), and memories from my travels. I am quite happy to take commissions, using not only watercolours, but pastels, acrylics oils and mixed media. Some of my pictures are sold without frames, unless they have been exhibited.
This makes them easier and safer to transport and leaves the customer to use frames of their choice to tie in with their house/office furnishings.
